フレイムス は、1984年にクリス・カーク（ギター、ボーカル）によって結成されたギリシャのスラッシュメタルバンド。
1985年にデビューアルバム”Made in Hell”をリリース。
メンバーチェンジは何度かあったが、クリス・カーク（ギター、ボーカル）、アンディ・カーク（ベース）のカーク兄弟が常にバンドの中心である。
彼らはサードアルバム”Summon The Dead”によって、ギリシャで初のメタルバンドとして、バンドの名を世界的に知らしめた。
このことによってギリシャのメタルシーンを促進する役割も果たした。
これは彼らの7枚目のスタジオアルバムで2022年7月にリリースされた。彼らが1996年にフルアルバムをリリースしてから実に26年ぶりのリリース。このアルバムではTom Trambouras（ギター、ボーカル）がメインボーカル。
Trambourasのボーカルは、楽曲に馴染んでおり、パワフルで十分にスラッシュメタルに適しており、全く問題はない。
過去の作品において多少の音楽スタイルの変化があった彼らだが、このアルバムにおいては、クラシックなタイプのスラッシュメタル。このバンドの特徴として、スラッシュメタルのバンドとしてはリフがとてもユニークな点があげられる。シャープでありながら、インパクトがあり、リフが違和感がなくうまく楽曲と調和している。聴いていると80年代の古き良きスラッシュメタルの時代にいるかのようなレトロな雰囲気があり、楽しむことができる。彼らのカムバック作品とはしては素晴らしく、スラッシュメタルファンにはお薦めのアルバム。

Flames is a Greek thrash metal band formed by Chris Kirk (guitar, vocals) in 1984.
They released their debut album “Made in Hell” in 1985.
There were several member changes
The band was formed by the Kirk brothers (Chris Kirk, Andy Kirk), and there were several member changes.
With their third album “Summon The Dead”, they made the band known worldwide as the first metal band in Greece.
This also played a role in promoting the Greek metal scene.
This is their seventh studio album, released in July 2022. It’s been 26 years since they released their full album in 1996. Tom Trambouras (guitar, vocals) is the main vocal on this album.
Trambouras vocals are familiar to the song, powerful and well suited for thrash metal, no problem at all.
They have had some changes in their musical style in their past works, but in this album they are a classic type of thrash metal. One of the characteristics of this band is that the riff is very unique as a thrash metal band. It’s sharp, yet has an impact, and the riffs are in harmony with the song. When you listen to it, you can enjoy it with a retro atmosphere as if you were in the good old thrash metal era of the 80’s. That’s great for their comeback work. And this album is recommended for thrash metal fans.
