イエスは、イギリス出身のロックバンド。1969年にデビュー。 2017年、「ロックの殿堂」入り。
メンバー・チェンジの激しいイエスにあって、1968年の結成時から、唯一在籍し続けたオリジナル・メンバーであったクリス・スクワイアが2015年に死去。
これはオリジナルメンバーがいないYesの作品としては初の作品。
バンド成立から52年経過しており、それらを考慮し現実的に評価していくことが適切だと思われる。
多くの人が気になっていることは、Yesがオリジナルメンバーがいなくてどの方向性へ舵を切るか、またベテランバンドとしてリスナーにどのようなアプローチを行うかだろう。
全盛期にメンバーだったスティーブ・ハウ（ギター）と、アラン・ホワイト（ドラム）がおり、Yesサウンドとしては成立する作品だ。
ただ全盛期の頃のような作品を期待してはいけない。あくまでイエスワールドを楽しむ、そんな作品だ。イエスがどのような世界を見せてくれるか、私たちはそれを楽しむ、そういう楽しみ方もある。
楽曲全体としてYesらしさ満点の躍動感はあり、徹底してきれいなメロディを際立せようとしている。それらに感心して心を奪われぼんやりとしていることに気づく。
Yesが到達する理想の美しさを追い求める。
その姿に感動し、次回作も聞きたくなる、そんなアルバムだ。

There are Steve Howe (guitar) and Alan White (drums) who were members in the heyday, and this is a Yes sound.
Some things that many people think about Yes. It’s about what kind of music Yes is going to go without the original members, and what kind of approach to listeners as a veteran band.
But don’t expect a work like it was in its heyday. It’s such a work to enjoy Yes World. We enjoy what kind of world Yes shows.
The song as a whole has a lively feeling of Yes, and they are trying to make a beautiful melody stand out. I am impressed with them and find myself fascinated.
