サディスト は、1991年に結成されたイタリアのデスメタル、メロディックデスメタルバンド。
ペソ（DS）、オリジナルメンバーであるトミー・タマランカ（G）、アンディ・マルチーニ（B）といったメンバーを中心にデモ等を制作した後、1993年に”Above the Light”でデビュー。
バンドは2000年に”Lego”をリリースした後、休止状態になった。その後2005年に再結成。その後もメンバー・チェンジをしながら活動。現在のラインナップはトレヴァー (ボーカル)、トミー・タラマンカ (ギター、キーボード)、ヨルン・パウル・テセリン (ベース)（オブスキュラ）、ロマン・グーロン (ドラムス)(ex-ネクロファジスト)。
これは彼らの9枚目のスタジオアルバムで2022年5月にリリースされた。
結成から30年のバンドでもあり、完成度が高い。
クラシックなタイプのプログレッシブなテクニカルデスメタル。
その素晴らしいテクニックを聴くことができるのは、元ネクロファジストのドラマーのロマン・グーロンや、オブスキュラでメンバーでもあるベーシストのヨルン・パウル・テセリンによるものだ。
それに加えて、ジャズ、中東音楽、ホラー音楽の要素、グルーブ感が含まれる。
これらの要素がうまく組み合わさっており、独特のオーラがある。
聴く曲ごとに変化があり、曲ごとの個性が際立つ。
サディストは彼らの理想の音楽スタイルを追求している独創的なバンドの一つだと言える。
それらが作用しあうことは、アルバム全体として、実験的でもあり、インパクトがあり素晴らしい。
そしてどこをとっても同じという事がないので、聴いていて次はどんな展開になるのか、とワクワクとした気持ちになれるので、とても楽しめる。

Sadist is an Italian death metal, melodic death metal band formed in 1991.
The members are Peso (DS), original members Tommy Tamalanka (G), Andy Martini (B), and they made their debut in 1993 with “Above the Light” after producing demos.
The band stopped working after releasing “Lego” in 2000. Then reunited in 2005. They continue to work while changing members. The current lineup is Trevor (vocals), Tommy Talamanca (guitar, keyboard), Jeroen Paul Thesseling (bass) (Obscura), Romain Goulon Roman Goulon (drums) (ex-Necrophagist).
This is their ninth studio album, released in May 2022.
It’s been a band for 30 years since its formation, and it’s close to perfect.
Classic type progressive technical death metal.
The great technique is heard by former Necrophagist drummer Romain Goulon and Obscura and member bassist Jeroen Paul Thesseling.
In addition, it includes elements of jazz, Middle Eastern music, horror music, and grooves.
These elements are well combined and have a unique aura.
There are changes for each song you listen to, and the individuality of each song stands out.
Sadists are one of the original bands pursuing their ideal musical style.
The interaction of them is also experimental, impactful and wonderful for the album as a whole.
And since it’s not the same everywhere, listening to it makes me feel excited about what the next development will be, so I can enjoy it very much.
Technical death metal that continues to evolve without compromise!
