アメリカのテクニカル・メロディック・デスメタルバンドで2008年に結成。通算6枚目、3年ぶりのアルバム今年2月にリリース。
新たにJeff Saltzman(Dr)が加入。
良いアルバム！今までのものとの比較で言うと、彼らが得意とするもので挑んだという感じある。ある意味実験的ともいえるのかどうか難しい。
今まで通りのメロディアスなギターソロとAllegaeon サウンドと呼ばれる快適な独特な曲は健在。
いくつかの曲はクリーンヴォイスと浮遊感が漂いエモーショナル。そしてよりメタルコア。私は彼らの技術力を知っているので、彼らが何でもできることは理解できる。個人的に彼らにもう少しテクニカルなものを期待する。

Allegaeon is an american technical melodic death metal band formed in 2008. This is their 6th album, coming 3 years after their previous full lenghth, released on February this year. The band is now joined by the drummer Jeff Saltzman.
“Damnum” is a very good album! Compared to their previous releases, I have the feeling that they have chosen some new musical paths, “risking” somehow the successful “formula” that could “ensure” a great outcome. It is difficult to say though if their attempt was experimental in a sense .The melodic guitar solos and the unique songs that define Allegaeon’s sound are still alive. Some songs are emotional with clear vocals and a floating feeling. And moments it sounds more “metal core”. I know their great technical skills, so they can practically try different things. I personally expected them to be a little more technical.
